Beverages » Witch's Brew
Apple cider, fruits and spices are steeped to release their aromas and flavors. Ladle into a mug and sip slowly to take in all the goodness. Remember, this brew was made by a witch, so we feel obligated to warn you - try it at your own risk!
Ingredients
- 1 gallon apple cider
- pomegranate seeds
- apples, sliced
- pears, sliced
- oranges, quartered
- cloves
- cardamom, ground
- star anise
- allspice
Special Equipment
- cauldron (don't have one? OK to use a large pot)
- cheesecloth for wrapping spices
How-to
- Heat a cauldron of apple cider. Add pomegranate seeds, apple and pear slices, and clove-spiked orange wedges
- Add cheesecloth-wrapped ground cardamom, star anise and allspice
- Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer 15 minutes
- Strain and ladle into a mug, careful not to burn your hands or lips, breathe in the autumn aromas, and enjoy
