/videos/ » Banana & Whole Wheat S'mores
Denise Drower Swidey introduces an updated version of S'mores. Using dark chocolate which has less sugar and powerful antioxidants, fiber-rich whole wheat graham crackers and potassium powerhouse bananas, you can still assemble the chocolate and marshmallow gooey goodness you love. Nice and warm right out of the oven or ready to assemble without baking, it's a tasty treat for kids of any age.
Ingredients
Baked S'mores
- whole wheat graham crackers
- dark chocolate broken into small pieces
- mini marshmallows
- ripe banana, peeled & sliced thin (but other fruit would work as well)
No-Bake S'mores
- whole wheat graham crackers
- Nutella hazelnut spread
- marshmallow fluff
- ripe banana, sliced
Special Equipment for No-Bake S'mores
- sandwich baggie
- rubber bands
How-to
Baked Treats
- Set toaster oven or conventional oven to 350º
- Lay graham cracker halves on a baking tray. Allow 2 squares per S’more
- Add pieces of chocolate on one graham cracker, and a few marshmallows on the other. Repeat on remaining graham crackers
- Toast 2-3 minutes or just until the chocolate and marshmallows are melted or softened
- Remove from the oven, add banana slices, close like a sandwich and enjoy!
No-Bake Treats
- Load chocolate-hazlenut spread (Nutella) in one corner of a baggie and load marshmallow fluff in the other corner
- Secure one rubber band around the base of each of the spreads to keep them in their respective corners
- When it is snack time, have you or your child cut the corners of the baggie off to squirt the Nutella and marshmallow fluff onto the graham crackes. Add the banana slices, close like a sandwich and enjoy!

Posted Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 3:47 pm by Slice Toaster Oven:I enjoyed this video. I was surfing looking for easy treats that were a little less guilty because they had some nutrition in them. The tips on the chocolate and the marshmallows was nice too. It is so simple that you don't need to check the recipe except to find out what to set the oven at. Can't wait to have some! And also, I would like to mention that I've seen some nice buys on toaster ovens at www.toasterandconvectionovens.com if somebody needs a toaster oven.
