Grilled Spamwich w/ Pineapple Relish

Serves 4


For Spamwich

  • 1 can Spam, sliced ½" thick
  • hotdog rolls or burger buns
  • sliced tomato
  • honey mustard

For Sauce & Relish

  • 14.4 oz can crushed pineapple, juice drained & fruit reserved
  • 1 oz cola
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup


  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat
  2. Open the can of Spam and slice into ½" thick slices (you may have to run a knife along the outside to loosen the Spam)
  3. Place on grill and cook 4-5 minutes per side
  4. Meanwhile, in a heatproof pot, add pineapple juice (drained from the canned, crushed pineapple), cola and maple syrup. Allow this to heat and reduce on the grill, 6-8 minutes
  5. When finished, remove Spam from grill and place in hotdog rolls or hamburger buns. Add tomato slices, honey mustard, and spoonfuls of the reduced sauce
