Rice Pudding Kit

Makes 4 servings per Kit


Special Equipment

  • jelly jars with lid
  • pinking shears
  • rubber bands
  • remnants of cloth & ribbon

Kit Ingredients

  • 1 pkg sugar-free instant vanilla pudding
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp nutmeg
  • scant ¾ cup uncooked instant rice
  • 3 tbsp raisins

To make rice pudding, you will need:

  • 3 cups milk


  1. In a jelly jar, add 1 pkg sugar-free instant vanilla pudding and tap down to pack the layer
  2. Add cinnamon and nutmeg and push gently around the edges of the jar to form the second layer
  3. Add ¾ cup uncooked instant rice and pack down, leaving room for raisins (optional)
  4. Top with 3 tbsp of raisins and push down, but don't crush the raisins and add the lid.  Now you're ready to decorate

Decorate the Jar

  1. Cut out a 5" round piece of material with pinking shears and secure to the lid with a rubber band
  2. Tie a ribbon around the rubber band
  3. Don't forget to give the recipe card!

To Cook the Rice Pudding

  1. Empty contents of jar into saucepan, add 3 cups milk and stir together
  2. Bring to a boil at medium heat, stirring constantly until creamy
  3. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Enjoy warm or chilled
