New York Style Street Nuts

Serves 4-6 as a snack


  • 2 cups raw, unsalted peanuts
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ tsp cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ½ tsp kosher salt


  1. Combine all ingredients except the salt in a pan and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring gently 
  2. Turn heat down to medium, let the rest of the liquid cook off. This will take about 5 minutes
  3. When the sugar seizes and the mixture becomes one clump, stir constantly, making sure to coat all of the peanuts
  4. Once the nuts are fully coated in the mixture, stir in salt and pour mixture onto parchment paper or greased aluminum foil
  5. Let cool and store in a sealed container
  6. Will last up to 2 months in a sealed container
