Mexican Hot Chocolate


  • 2.75 oz (approximately ⅓ cup) Mexican style chocolate (Taza chocolate includes Mexican chocolate with cinnamon or almonds, perfect for this tasty beverage)
  • 16 oz water (just below boiling)

Special Equipment

  • molinillo (a Mexican whisk - any regular kitchen whisk will do but this one is so festive!)
  • pitcher for the hot chocolate


  1. Grate the chocolate
  2. Pour the water into the pitcher
  3. Pour the chocolate into the hot water
  4. Whisk and froth the hot chocolate
  5. Pour and serve!
